Cheshire West and Chester Council are starting to develop a design code for the borough in partnership with Create Streets. Design codes are a collection of design principles which help residents define what good development and high-quality public streets and spaces look like in their area. A code sets out exactly what is expected of developers in a clear and visual manner. This leads to the creation of more beautiful and sustainable places within existing communities that local residents are more likely to support and treasure. 

To support our initial analysis, we want to hear your views to set community objectives on what this design code should include to ensure development respects the area’s unique heritage, landscapes and character. If you live, work, visit or study in Cheshire West and Chester we want to hear your views about which places, streets and buildings you like (or don’t) via the interactive map in the link below.  The views you share with us will play an essential role in shaping the code and determining the future of your communities.

The Council is developing a new Housing Strategy that sets a vision for the Council and its partners as we work to improve housing for all residents across the borough. Following our engagement earlier in the year we would like to hear your views on our draft Strategy.

temporary road closure notice for Belmont Road, Great Budworth which commences on 8th August 2024. This is necessary for safety reasons to enable utility works, works to be carried out by Openreach.
