Lunch and Learn – Energy Saving Advice Talk
Cheshire West Citizen’s Advice would like to invite anyone who’s role is working with or supporting anyone in the front line to a lunch and learn session to find out about and benefit from information and advice around energy saving.
- Thursday, 28th September 2023 from 12pm until 1pm via Teams
You will leave the session knowing how you can best support colleagues, friends, family members and anyone you may be working with, on advice on energy saving.
Within Cheshire West and Chester the percentage of fuel poor households within our borough as of 2022 was 11.9%. From April 2022 to November 2022 during a 7 month period, the most requested support to the Help in Emergencies for Local People (HELP) scheme was for cash/energy vouchers.
Within the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey (OPN), of those who reported a rising cost of living in January 2022, 79% cited higher gas and electricity bills as a cause. (Source: Office for National Statistics).
It is known that over 300,000 households eligible for the warm homes discount last winter did not receive it. With energy bills still high Cheshire West Citizens Advice Energy Adviser would like to go through what the energy crisis is and how it affects people, the current support that is available, ways to maximise income, simple energy saving tricks to reduce how much energy you are using and answer any questions you might have.
