Vacancy for Parish Councillor – How to Apply
Great Budworth Parish Council currently has a vacancy for a Parish Councillor.
If you would like to get involved in making decisions about your local community and would like the opportunity to make a contribution to the area in which you live or work, then this is the position for you!
To qualify to serve as a Parish Councillor you must be aged 18 years or over and be a citizen of the UK, the Commonwealth, or the Republic of Ireland. You must be an elector of the Parish or in the past 12 months (a) have occupied land or other premises in the Parish (as owner or tenant) or (b) work in the Parish (as your principle or only place of work) or (c) live within three miles of the Parish boundary.
Any ten electors of the Parish may call an election by writing to the Returning Officer, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Council Offices, 4 Civic Way, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BE) on or before 9th July 2021. If no election is called the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option at its September meeting.
