Hi was wondering if there is an online parish register I can access to do some of my family tree research? my ancestors lived in Great Budworth, I have a baptism of Joseph Yates in 1791 (he marries someone named as Elizabeth but not sure of date) and seems his father John Yates was also born there, any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your time

    Good morning,
I’m hoping you can assist me. I’ve been doing my family tree and have been doing very well with it. I’m now trying to find out a bit more about what their lives would have been like. I’m currently looking into my 3 times Great-Grandfather and Grandmother Thomas and Kitty Sharps. They lived in Great Budworth during the 1841 census. Their address was on Church Street and Thomas’ occupation was a Publican. Do you know whether any of the lovely properties on Church Street were a public house during that period. If not could you hazard a guess at where he would have worked.
    Kind regards
    Cath Sharps

      Hello Cath,

Thank you for your enquiry – The George & Dragon has been the pub in the centre of the village for hundreds of years, some artefacts there are dated from 1722, I hope this helps with your family tree.
